Bothell: City plans winter party

The annual Winterfest celebration in the city of Bothell is planned for December at the Park at Bothell Landing.

The event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the park at 9919 NE 180th St. The event starts with hay rides for children, and the lighting of the holiday tree is set for 6:30 p.m. at the park.

Guests are invited to bring cameras to take pictures of friends and family with Santa, who is planning to make an appearance at the event. Music is expected to be provided by carolers.

Edmonds: Show planned for library

Celebrate the holiday season with a magic show planned for December at the Edmonds Library.

The show, Holiday Magic, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the library at 650 Main St.

Local musician Jeff Evans is planning to lead the show. The event is being sponsored by Friends of the Edmonds Library.

Mill Creek: Crime meeting planned

A commission seeking input on behalf of the Snohomish County Council about how to decrease crime and improve public safety is planning to meet Tuesday at Mill Creek City Hall.

The meeting of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Criminal Justice is planned from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall at 15728 Main St.

The commission is evaluating existing and new proposals for meeting the county’s diverse criminal justice needs.

The commission’s recommendations are expected to establish priorities for the County Council to balance crime prevention, intervention and response procedures to provide safer communities and better use of public funds.

Monroe: Dental clinic visits Monroe

The Washington Dental Service Foundation SmileMobile is set to visit Valley General Hospital, 14701 179th Ave. SE, from Dec. 3 through Dec. 19.

The SmileMobile, a modern dental office on wheels, brings oral health services to children from limited-income families who would not otherwise have access to much-needed dentistry. The mobile clinic is supported by teams of volunteer dental professionals.

Services range from examinations and preventive care to fillings and minor oral surgery. All these services are provided at little or no cost to patients.

Mountlake Terrace: Transportation plans approved

A pair of long-term plans that map out transportation improvements in Mountlake Terrace have been approved by the City Council.

The city’s Transportation Master Plan and Transportation Improvement Program calls for $17.7 million in projects during the next six years. The projects cover traffic improvements, new sidewalks, bike routes, transit connections and other transportation issues.

The plans call for more projects through 2025. The plans account for additional traffic to and from the planned redevelopment of the Mountlake Terrace town center.
