OREGON CITY, Ore. — Oregon law enforcement officers who patiently tracked a suspiciously over-packaged freight pallet that contained 39 pounds of pot have seized more than 130 pounds of marijuana at a home in Estacada.
A Con-way Freight employee alerted Clackamas County sheriff’s deputies to the pallet back in July and a drug detection dog agreed it was suspicious. A warrant search showed it contained 39 pounds of marijuana.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Wurpes says the county Interagency Task Force began an in-depth investigation. On Monday, task force and county SWAT officers served a search warrant on a home in Estacada, southeast of Portland.
They found the larger stash of dried marijuana, more than 200 marijuana plants and several firearms.
A father and son have been arrested for investigation of manufacturing and distributing controlled substances.
