PASCO — After almost a century of delivering babies, the Lourdes Health Network is closing the obstetrics department at its Pasco hospital and cutting about 50 jobs.
CEO John Serle told the Tri-City Herald the changes are a “course correction” that reflects changes in health care.
Expectant mothers will be sent to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland or Kennewick General Hospital.
Meanwhile, Lourdes plans to open a joint and spine center to help patients recovering from joint replacement and back surgeries. The hospital has 95 beds and about 800 employees.
