Q: What is the best choice while driving — to obey the speed limits and nearly cause accidents, or the very least, road rage — or to stay with the flow of traffic even when it is 15 miles over the speed limit? I don’t especially approve of raising the speed limit, but I don’t see how it can be fair to stop any one for exceeding the speed limit when 99 percent of the traffic is disobeying the law.
A: Lt. Mark Thomas with the Washington State Patrol said the best choice is to obey the speed limit.
"While law enforcement can’t stop every vehicle exceeding the speed limit, the Washington State Patrol did make approximately 160,000 arrests for speed last year," Thomas said. "Speed is a major contributor to collisions and their severity and will continue to be a priority of the State Patrol."
Staying to the right except to pass will allow faster traffic to pass you, Thomas said. That will also help to avoid road rage
