EVERETT — A disturbance allegedly involving a firearm near Everett Community College led to police locking down the campus for less than 15 minutes on Friday, according to Everett Police Department spokesperson C.J. Hawley.
Around 12:57 p.m. Friday, the lockdown began, according to an Everett Community College social media post. Students were notified to shelter in place if they were inside a building or immediately leave campus if they were outside.
Around 1:10 p.m., law enforcement informed the college’s security that the suspects were in custody, and the lockdown ended, the post said. Normal operations resumed when the college was sure the potential threat was resolved. No students or staff were in harm’s way, the post said.
Police or campus officials did not provide any additional details.
