LYNNWOOD — A boy was shot in the hip Friday during a meeting with at least one other person in Lynnwood.
They’d arranged to meet in the 20100 block of 48th Avenue West near the Lynnwood Transit Center. Detectives do not know how many people the boy had met with.
“The meeting deteriorated and ended up with the victim being shot once,” said Lynnwood police Cmdr. Sean Doty.
The suspect, or suspects, were gone before officers arrived.
Acquaintances took the boy to Swedish hospital in Edmonds around 12:30 p.m. The boy was then transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for additional treatment, Doty said.
The boy’s age and hometown were not immediately available.
