EVERETT — Detectives are asking for help identifying a man who broke into a family’s apartment on Aug. 26 and stabbed an 11-year-old boy with a screwdriver.
Everett police released surveillance video of the man on Thursday in hopes of generating tips.
The attack was reported about 10:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of Oakes Avenue, officer Aaron Snell said.
Investigators believe the man broke in through a window by popping out the screen. He was walking out of the spare bedroom when the boy spotted him.
The man stabbed the boy in the arm and pushed him out of the way. A scuffle broke out, and the adults in the home grabbed knives. The man ran out the front door.
The boy was hospitalized and later released. The family did not know the suspect.
He is described as white, thin, about 5-foot-7 and in his late 20s or early 30s with blond hair. He was wearing blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Everett Police Department at 425-257-8450 or 1-800-222-TIPS.
