EVERETT — The Washington State Patrol is trying to return some stolen jewelry to the rightful owners.
A trooper discovered the jewelry on Friday after arresting a driver and searching his vehicle.
The trooper stopped the vehicle in Everett, initially because the exhaust system had been unlawfully modified.
The driver didn’t provide identification and was taken into custody, trooper Heather Axtman said.
The trooper allegedly found counterfeit bills from the man’s pockets.
While searching the vehicle, he found a large amount of heroin, methamphetamine and pills, Axtman said. He also discovered a stolen firearm.
Some of the jewelry featured distinct markings, leading police to believe the items may have been stolen.
Anyone who believes their jewelry may have been stolen can contact trooper Darryl Tolen at 425-327-4201 or darryl.tolen@wsp.wa.gov.
