EVERETT — Police have arrested a third suspect in the shooting death of a 55-year-old Everett man.
On Friday morning police sent out an alert that Laura Bonita Johnson, 27, was wanted in the homicide of Darren D. Larson.
Someone tipped off detectives about Johnson’s location within hours, and she was arrested by the afternoon, said officer Aaron Snell.
Larson was shot in the back Oct. 17 in the 1600 block of 22nd Street, when a man barged into his apartment demanding drugs and money, according to Everett police. Larson’s roommate, 38, was pistol-whipped and shot in the robbery. He survived a gunshot by his ear that left a bullet lodged between his skull and his scalp.
The suspected shooter, Edmond C. Overton, 24, and an alleged accomplice, Vanessa Marie Joy Grimmett, 18, were arrested days later at a hotel in Seattle. Both have since been charged.
Everett police said Johnson is suspected of driving the getaway car.
