Democratic Party endorses Jim Kenny for prosecutor

The Snohomish County Democratic Party recently voted to endorse Jim Kenny in his bid for county prosecutor.

Kenny is a deputy city prosecutor with the City of Seattle and fire commissioner for Snohomish County Fire District 1.

Kenny is running against interim Prosecuting Attorney Mark Roe.

Precinct officers for the Democratic Party last fall selected Kenny as their top choice to fill the position left open after former county prosecutor Janice Ellis stepped down to take a job with the Tulalip Tribes.

The County Council chose Roe for the job until voters can make their choice this fall.

Both Kenny and Roe are Democrats. No other candidates have filed for the partisan position.
