Puget Sound Energy may give $50 credit for outages

BELLEVUE — A Puget Sound Energy spokesman says the utility is working to restore electricity to about 27,000 Western Washington customers who lost power in last week’s storms.

Roger Thompson said late Monday night that about half of those remaining outages are in Thurston County, with the rest split between south King and Pierce counties. Crews continue to work around the clock. Thompson said the utility hopes to have most in King and Pierce counties back in service Tuesday, then divert all crews to Thurston County. In all, more than 1,500 linemen are working to restore power, though not all work at the same time.

The utility says it has restored power to more than 380,000 customers.

Spokeswoman Gretchen Aliabadi said Monday that Puget Sound Energy customers who are without power for five full days are entitled to a $50 credit on their bill. She says those people should contact customer service.
