KENAI, Alaska — A raven caused a large power outage in Kenai.
Joe Gallagher, a spokesman for the Homer Electric Association substation, says power went out at 8:24 p.m. Thursday after a raven got into the Marathon substation and landed on a voltage regulator.
The Peninsula Clarion says that tripped the substation and damaged the regulator.
Power was fully restored about two hours later.
The outage affected about 2,500 homes and businesses.
