MUKILTEO — City Councilwoman Anna Rohrbough, a vocal critic of Mayor Jennifer Gregerson, is resigning this month as she will be moving with her family to Northern California to pursue a new opportunity.
Rohrbough, who works as a leadership coach, won a four-year council term in 2017.
A Republican, she ran for a Snohomish County Council seat in 2019, losing to Democrat Megan Dunn in a spirited contest.
“I am very saddened that I will be vacating early,” Rohrbough said in an email. “I feel a deep sense of responsibility to the constituents I serve and all those that supported our pioneering campaign last year.”
Rohrbough said she will attend her final city council meeting May 18. Her last day in office will be May 20.
“God has called me forward to a new challenge and I will find a way to serve there,” she said. “I am honored and feel privileged that I had the opportunity to serve in this community with honesty as my core value.”
The City Council will appoint someone to complete the remainder of her term. An announcement on the timeline and process is expected in the coming days.
