Granite Falls music picks

Four Granite Falls School District students have been selected for national and state music honors:

Sixth-grade student Madelyn Winter will perform in a national honor choir in Miami in March. Madelyn was one of 150 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students across the country selected from 1,500 auditions to perform in the America Choral Director’s Association Youth Treble Choir.

Winter and fellow Granite Falls Middle School sixth-graders Erin Hurn and Emily Walbon also were selected to participate in the sixth annual Washington Music Educators Association’s All-State Youth Honor Chorus, which will perform March 24 at Showwalter Middle School in Tukwila. The students will join 150 middle-school students from across the state to perform in the 2007 concert.

Freshman Chelsea Zybach has been selected to participate in the 53rd annual Washington Music Educators Association’s All-State Band, Orchestra and Choir, which will perform at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma on March 25.
