LYNNWOOD — The 74-year-old woman killed in a crash Sunday on Highway 99 has been identified.
The woman died Sunday afternoon following a 2-car crash between 188th Street SW and 196th Street SW, Lynnwood police spokesperson Maren McKay said Tuesday. The highway was closed off in both directions while officers investigated.
The deceased was identified Tuesday as Elena Mroczek, of Seattle. She died from blunt force injuries.
While exact details of the crash remained unclear, McKay said it was due to a “high rate of speed” involving a 19-year-old driver.
McKay could not confirm if any arrests were made following the crash.
Detectives continued investigation Tuesday.
