The North Everett Lions Club was holding a special meeting at Tai Ping Terrace when the district governor would be a guest of honor. Frank Woltring of Marysville was the principal speaker. Dr. Veryl, club president, welcomed new member Jack Christofferson.
Marty Leggiere rocked 10-pins for a giant 654 series in the North-End Industrial League at Broadway Lanes last night. Leggiere’s total topped four 600-plus series rolled at the establishment. Ron Stockton had a 633 in the Industrial, while Ernie Miller rolled 611 and Peter Morely a 604.
25 years ago (1982)
Marcia Baldwin, a graduate of the Welcome Wagon hostess school, was now cheerfully carrying Welcome Wagon baskets to south Snohomish County newcomers. She went in her Oldsmobile to the homes of people such as Becky Carney. Included in the baskets were maps, school supplies, sacks of planting soil, litter bags, Mr. Yuk stickers and certificates for free family vision screening.
Gregory King, star of the National Ballet of Canada, the Joffrey Ballet and the Pavlova Celebration, was to conduct a master class in dance at the Betty Spooner studio at 2821 Rockefeller Ave.
