50 years ago (1957)
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Butler were honored at a 50th wedding anniversary reception in the music room of the Masonic Temple. Organizing the party were their daughters, Thelma Rodgers and Marianne Bellinger. June Ramstad, accompanied by her daughter Catherine, sang “I Love Thee” and “Through the Years.”
Tingstad’s at 2811 Colby Ave. was introducing Eleanor Swartz, who was in charge of the record department. The door prizes included free records, an RCA Victor high-fidelity record player and a dynamic transistor pocket radio.
25 years ago (1982)
Peter Krogh had known many joys in his 93 years of life, but none had been so rewarding or fulfilling as the happiness he now found helping children learn. He was a volunteer tutor in Mickie Gundersen’s special-education class at Evergreen Middle School. Gundersen said Krogh was spry, witty, soft-spoken, gentle, kind and caring.
Wright’s Food &Beverage Parlors was having a grand opening. Located at 10020 Evergreen Way South, they were open 24 hours a day.
