Almer Skotdal, president of West Coast Dairy, was elected to the board of directors of Security State Bank of Everett. The Skotdals were long associated with the social and business activities of the city. Daughter Irene graduated from Everett High this year, daughter Louise would graduate next year, and son Arthur was to enter the high school.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cook of Everett were finally even. The birth of son Jeffrey at Providence Hospital gave the couple 18 children; nine boys and nine girls. Irene, 26, was their oldest.
Harold Pyatte, manager of the Everett Merchants, said he expected excellent pitching and a more balanced league to keep his team in the Western International League baseball chase in 1982. Pyatte said that it was a rebuilding year for Everett, but that several other teams were also having a rebuilding year.
Local livestock lovers were auctioning their animals at the Marysville Livestock Auction. The Puget Sound Junior Livestock Show was also taking place there. David Parks of Arlington was showing off his steer, Cocoa, and Jason Tyler of Edmonds hugged his hog, Rusty.
