50 years ago (1955)
Snaring the lead in the team event of the Washington State Women’s Bowling Association at Evergreen Lanes was the B&M Laundry five. Vic Mangels, Edna Konecky, Ruth Hopkins, Lorna William and Lucille Simons rolled a 2,781 series.
25 years ago (1980)
Bob Johnston of Marysville kept youngsters at Garfield School entertained in his role as “People Mover” as he taught the children values. Some of the students entertained were Mike Ray, Faye Nush, Russel Schardt and Dave Sutton. School principal Chuck Horensky was impressed with the program.
Women could meet one of Seattle’s most eligible bachelors at Lynnwood Furniture. Wally Walker of the world-champion Seattle Supersonics autographed Sonics posters and pennants and gave away free game tickets.
