Ed Armstrong, physical director of the Everett YMCA, presented awards to a group of boys and girls. They were Gordon Smith, Susan Kyes, Patty Conway, Heather Cody, Dianne Breitering, Peggy Skaare, Alicia Jeffs, Judy Williams, Peggy Olafson, Clara Fagstad, Marilyn Westover, Celeste Erickson, Larry Wallace, Terry McCullem, Wallace Brekke, Frank Marshall, James Puckett, Gus Collier, Larry McCormick, Tim Fowler, Ralph Barton, Bob Arnestad, Marc Baker and Jack O’Donnell.
Making plans for the Catholic Youth Organization’s fall agenda were Jim Sharpe, John Moga, Sylvia Willson, Jack Irwin and Diane Johnson.
25 years ago (1979)
The football teams of Everett, Snohomish and Meadowdale high schools were in a three-way tie for first place in the Eastern Division of the Western Conference. Coach Tony Whitefield of Everett said he was looking forward to playing the Snohomish Panthers later in the season.
The Serena was the hairstyle of the month at Fashion Beauty Salon at 46th Street and Evergreen Way, in back of A&W Root Beer.
