50 years ago (1954)
Music in the Bowl, sponsored by the Everett Recreation Council and the Parks Department, would make its debut the next day at Forest Park Bowl. The program was arranged by Grace Millican Moe and would include music from the Eagles Band, the Little Drum and Bugle Corps and the American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps. There would be vocal selections by Shirley Paine, Lois Dexter and Franck Jamison. Dance students from the Betty Spooner school and Paddy Hudson’s Drillettes would perform.
25 years ago (1979)
Ruth Miller was named manager of the Casino Road office of the Bank of Everett, on Evergreen Way near the Fred Meyer shopping center. John Bradford was named assistant vice president and manager of the Marysville office.
Chad and Tonya Bjerkan admired a dahlia grown by their uncle, Gordon Leroux, 5021 View Drive, for the Snohomish County Dahlia Society Show at Forest Park’s Floral Hall. The Everett show was said to be the oldest of its type in the nation.
