About 50 elementary school teachers from Everett attended an art workshop at Hawthorne School. Dabbling in chalk were Georgina MacKenzie and Mary McGovern, Jackson Elementary; Margaret Pedersen, Whittier Elementary; Francis Cory, Lowell Elementary; and Clio Heller, instructor.
Instead of sending a number of small packages to various parts of the world, the Everett Junior Red Cross concentrated on one nation, gathering a huge box for Korea. John Hallahan and Bob Klein helped to get the box ready for shipment. Edmere Robarge was the adviser.
Olympic bank had completed a major reorganization of its top management, according to bank president Murray Campbell. Receiving promotions were Gerald Braaten, vice president in charge of funds management; Dale Clark, vice president in charge of information systems and financial control; Walter Lacche, in charge of the restructured branch administration division; and David Nasman, vice president in corporate development and credit administration.
Sarah McIntyre of Stanwood won four events to lead the Spartans to a Northwest AA League girls triumph over Sedro-Woolley. She won the high jump, both hurdles events and the long jump.
