The Legislature directed the state Toll Bridge Authority to study the possibility of building a toll road between Everett and Tacoma.
Lloyd Sullivan, a meat cutter with 20 years experience and recently manager of the J&J Market in Snohomish, was the new manager of the meat department of Hereth Food Mart at Second Street and Avenue C. The announcement was made by Al Hereth. Sullivan had just completed two weeks of schooling with Thriftway.
John Fluke Manufacturing Co., the largest electronics company in Snohomish County, was prepared to move from Mountlake Terrace to south Everett. The company employed about 1,325 people. Founded in 1959, it was the first of 20 such firms now operating in the county.
The annual Everett Sausage Fest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish in Everett was on. Some highlights were a soccer clinic with Pepe Fernandez, laughs with J.P. Patches &Gertrude, and music from Donny Mack and Unexpected Company. The food booths featured corn on the cob, hot dogs, sausage on a stick, chicken, hamburgers, pizza, garden produce, cotton candy, popcorn and pastries.
