50 years ago (1963)
Sporting goofy hats, Mike Bailey, Peter Newland and Brent Ingram were picking up items for the YMCA Women’s Auxiliary rummage sale. Proceeds would go to youth programs like Gull Hi-Y, of which the Everett High School seniors were members. Charlotte Harrison was president of the auxiliary.
Pascual Bellizia, 16, whose home was Mexico City, would soon enroll at Everett High School. He would have a better understanding of state government after serving as a page in the House of Representatives. Rep. Jack Dootson of Everett brought the youth here.
25 years ago (1988)
Forty-seven dollars per month put you in the driver’s seat at Millbrook Equipment Co., 8407 Broadway. It was time to get ready for spring and summer with a John Deere riding lawn mower with a 6-horsepower engine and 26-inch cut.
The Board of Directors and staff of Snohomish County Community alcohol and Drug Service (CAS) invited all to join for an evening of entertainment and recognition of those who had supported efforts combating problems with alcohol and other drugs. It was being held at Nendel’s, 2821 Pacific Ave.
