EVERETT — A man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation on Saturday after an apartment fire in Everett.
It was the second fire in the city within the hour.
The first was reported about 8:20 a.m. at a private marina on 34th Ave NE on Union Slough. A single boat sustained heavy damage, said Rachael Doniger, a spokeswoman for the Everett Fire Department. No one was hurt.
The second fire was reported about 9 a.m. at Walden Pond Apartments on 12th Avenue W. It apparently started in a couch. Damage was contained to one unit. It was not immediately clear if the injured man lived in that unit. He is expected to survive.
Both fires remain under investigation. Damage estimates were not available.
