EVERETT — Police surrounded an AM-PM convenience store here after multiple shots were fired at about 10:45 a.m. today.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether anyone had been injured during the incident in the 4100 block of Rucker Avenue.
Early reports were that a man began shooting inside the store, went outside to his vehicle, reloaded, and returned to the store to shoot some more. Police were responding as if the gunman remained inside.
Fontelle Jones, owner of Great Yarns at 4023 Rucker Ave, across the street from the store, said she heard four shots fired.
She said police officers were laying in the street on Rucker Avenue, guns drawn., and an officer crouched in a bus shed, also on Rucker. She had one customer at the time of the shooting and they are staying away from the windows.
