MILL CREEK – Six people were arrested here on Friday in a prostitution sting.
Mill Creek detectives and federal agents worked undercover as part of Operation Dial-Up to target women who posted contact information online and promoted prostitution, police spokeswoman Robin Swanson said.
The operation was created after a regional sting uncovered that underage girls were being exploited for prostitution, she said.
During the operation, undercover officers responded to advertisements in the “adult services” category on Craigslist, a Web site used to buy and sell goods and services. They arranged to meet the women at a Snohomish County apartment. The women were arrested once they explicitly offered sex for money, Swanson said.
Five women and one man were arrested in the sting and booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
