MOUNT VERNON — A Skagit County Sheriff’s deputy has been arrested for domestic violence near Mount Vernon.
The Skagit Valley Herald reported that the deputy, who hasn’t been identified, was arrested Sunday and is being held on $100,000 bail in Island County Jail.
A probable cause affidavit says the deputy was off duty during an incident Saturday night at his Big Lake area home.
The document says when deputies responded the victim said it was the second time in a week the man had become violent.
The affidavit says the man pulled a gun more than once and threatened to harm himself.
He’s being held in Island County Jail for investigation of second-degree assault domestic violence.
Sheriff Will Reichardt said the deputy was placed on paid administrative leave Monday, which is standard practice.
