CLEARVIEW — A Snohomish woman was injured Sunday afternoon in a four-car crash that Washington State Patrol troopers believe was caused by an impaired driver on Highway 9 in the Clearview area.

The Snohomish woman, 79, was in a Honda HR-V crossover SUV in the left turn lane to 180th Street SE from southbound Highway 9 around 1:15 p.m. A man from Everett was behind her in a Honda Accord, with a Renton man in a Toyota Sienna in the adjacent southbound lane.

A Snohomish man, 61, allegedly crossed into the left turn lane and crashed into the Snohomish woman and Everett man. The collision knocked the Snohomish woman’s SUV into the Renton man’s minivan.

The Snohomish woman was taken to EvergreenHealth Kirkland.

The cause was under investigation. Troopers believe alcohol or drugs were involved, according to a state patrol memo.
