Friday at about midnight we heard this terrible break screeching noise and a tremendously loud metal-meeting-metal sound. All my neighbors heard it too because heads were popping out of doorways. The sound was far worse than the
reality. The car had plowed through a “no outlet” sign, folding it neatly to the ground, and into my arborvitae hedge. It’s a good thing that hedge was there, too, because he was heading right for the house.
The driver didn’t stick around, and I didn’t get out of the house fast enough to see his exit. It’s amazing he was able to keep going because that had to have hurt. The neighbor got most of the license plate number and the police officer, who works the 6 to 6 shift and would rather work days, was pleasant. All I could do was laugh because I really have never liked that arborvitae hedge.
