SPOKANE — Spokane’s police chief has agreed to let a downtown concert venue host musical events again after he shut it down Monday following the shootings of two people after a show.
Chief Frank Straub has been in talks with the management of The Knitting Factory to find ways to curb violence after some shows.
Straub and Knitting Factory executive Greg Marchant held a press conference Thursday with Spokane Mayor David Condon to announce that talks have progressed enough to allow the concert house to reopen immediately.
Straub pulled the entertainment license after two people were shot and wounded early Monday outside the venue. He said it was a public safety problem because of shootings over the past year.
