SPOKANE — A man who suffered a head injury while trying to break up a party in Spokane died Thursday night in a hospital.
Officials say Frank Motta had been asked by his next-door neighbor to keep an eye on her house while she was out of town. Her teenager was having a party Saturday night and Motta entered the home about the same time as deputies to break it up.
Witnesses say Motta was nudging people, telling them to leave when an 18-year-old man told him not to touch his girlfriend, who is pregnant. Witnesses say he pushed Motta to the ground and punched him in the head.
Treven Lewis was arrested Tuesday for investigation of assault and held on $250,000 bail. He told reporters he was protecting his girlfriend.
