TACOMA — A man released from the Pierce County Jail on Thursday morning was back behind bars a few hours later.
Tacoma police told The News Tribune he took a car from a corrections officer right outside the jail. The officer had started her car and was letting it warm up.
Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says at least two officers tried to stop him and were dragged a few feet. The man was stopped a few hours later after trying to take another car by running it off the interstate.
Cool says he has been booked back into jail.
