EVERETT — Testimony will begin today in a state Liquor Control Board appeal hearing to determine whether a Snohomish tavern’s liquor license will be permanently revoked.
The state suspended the U&I Bar and Grill’s liquor license for 30 days March 6 after several violent incidents connected to the tavern. The most recent was a fight resulting in a patron’s death.
State liquor officials announced their intention to revoke the license unless tavern owner Keith Allen appealed. The tavern reopened April 5 after a temporary suspension ended.

Lake Stevens fisherman Tony Cullum, 28, is awaiting trial on a charge of first-degree manslaughter. His girlfriend, Alexandra "Ali" Love, 23, was charged with misdemeanor assault, and three others have been charged with rendering criminal assistance, a misdemeanor. Love and two of the others arrested were tavern employees.
