MUKILTEO — It’s three days of tricks for spectators and skaters at The MUK this weekend.
The Mukilteo Family YMCA is hosting MUK Games, the largest skate park event of the year.
“We are so excited to give everyone their moment to shine and a unique opportunity to participate in the sport they love,” skate park director Jason Maki said in a news release. “I’m particularly looking forward to the non-locals who attend the event and throw down (which translates to: do awesome tricks)!”
The events are finger skateboarding, 4 to 8 p.m. Friday; skateboarding, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; and scootering, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Each rider will get two 45-second runs in their assigned division while having their names and tricks broadcasted by an emcee. Festivities include food, prizes, music and skating culture.
Lunch is provided for participants. Lunch tickets will be available to purchase.
Registration is $5 for YMCA members and $15 for community members.
The event is free for spectators.
The MUK is one of the largest outdoor parks in the state, at 10601 47th Place W. The Y’s skate park is the only staffed skate facility in Snohomish County.
