KENT — Three people are dead in a wrong-way crash on Highway 167 near Kent.
The Washington State Patrol said the driver of a car entered the freeway northbound in the wrong direction, crossed three lanes and hit another car head on. It identified the driver of the wrong-way vehicle as a 21-year-old Kent woman.
Also killed were 69-year-old Marina Martinez of Renton, who was driving the second car, and 72-year-old Cesar Martinez, who was a passenger in the vehicle she was driving.
Troopers do not suspect that drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident that occurred at 1:35 a.m. today.
A third car was involved in the crash, but the State Patrol said two people in that vehicle, a 40-year-old man and a 42-year-old man from Seattle, did not suffer serious injuries.
