EVERETT — Everett fire crews were called out to three early morning fires Friday that appear to be the work of vandals, officials said.
The fires caused less than $200 in damage and no one was injured, said Kate Reardon, a spokeswoman for the city of Everett.
The fires are under investigation.
Around 5 a.m., firefighters were called to a trash can fire at Legion Park on Everett’s north end.
Two minutes later, another crew responded to a gazebo fire that was extinguished by a homeowner.
Nearby there was a smoldering blanket on a golf course chain link fence within a short distance of Legion Park.
Rick Robinson, Everett’s deputy fire chief, said the fires caused little damage.
“This looks to me like idle hands,” he said.
