EDMONDS — A would-be traffic stop turned into a car crash and police dog chase early Wednesday morning.
An Edmonds Police officer attempted a traffic stop at Olympic View Drive and Wharf Street around 4:40 a.m. The driver, a 27-year-old Lynnwood man, allegedly backed into the patrol SUV and sped off.
The car crashed a couple of blocks away and was found by a Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputy in the 22100 block of Locust Way.
A police dog tracked the driver, who was hiding in a tree. He was arrested for investigation of eluding police and vehicular assault.
Two other men, passengers in the vehicle, also were arrested on warrants.
The officer was not injured.
