When it comes to living green, I’m probably more into the whole movement than my husband, who — for 10 years now — has graciously gone along, as much as practical, with my bottomless enthusiasm for household recycling, composting and sustainable eats.
But gradually, I’m wearing him down.
How can I tell?
On a recent trip through the beautiful San Jose International Airport, he pointed out something interesting. It was a garbage-recycling receptacle with two holes, a large one labeled for mixed paper, cans and bottles and another labled “Trash to Landfill.”
He ran over immediately and said it was one of the most motivating messages he’d ever seen for reluctant recyclers.
It really made him think.
He said it should be on every trash can.
“That’s what I should be thinking every time I throw something away,” he said.
Of course, I’m thinking: That’s always what I’m thinking!
But he already knows that.
What do you think?
