MONROE — The marked police cars were outside the condos, but that didn’t stop the would-be drug buyers.
Officers in uniform were in the middle of serving a search warrant Tuesday at the home in the 18600 block of Blueberry Lane.
During the search, two men appeared separately at the front door and tried to buy heroin.
Both were arrested.
“I guess it didn’t even dawn on them who the visitors were at the home,” Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said. “It is very weird.”
Police served search warrants on the Blueberry Lane residence as well as a home in the 700 block of Maple Street. They seized suspected heroin, marijuana, prescription pills, cash, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.
The arrests were part of an ongoing heroin distribution investigation, Willis said.
In addition to the would-be drug customers, three men believed to be dealing heroin were booked into the Snohomish County Jail. All were in their early 20s.
One of those men, 23, also was arrested for third-degree assault. Police allege that he kicked an officer in the thigh and tried to head-butt him, but missed. Police said the suspect later rammed his head into a wall and received a scrape.
A fourth man, 22, was arrested on a state Department of Corrections violation.
An infant was in one of the homes when the arrests occurred, Willis said.
Two motorcycles also were seized. They were taken because police believe they were purchased with drug money.
