MARYSVILLE — Paramedics took two people to the hospital after a head-on collision Friday afternoon.
It was reported shortly before 3 p.m. in the 8100 block of Highway 528, said Marysville Assistant Police Chief Jeff Goldman.
A 74-year-old Everett man was driving east when he crossed into the westbound lane and struck an oncoming vehicle.
One of the drivers was trapped in the car and had to be rescued, said Battalion Chief Keith Taylor with the Marysville Fire District.
The man was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with life-threatening injuries. The westbound driver, a 64-year-old woman from Marysville, also was taken to the hospital. She is expected to survive.
Highway 528 was closed for nearly two hours. Detectives are looking into the cause of the crash.
