EVERETT — Two men are charged with first-degree robbery in connection with a shooting and purse-snatching outside a Marysville grocery store earlier this month.
Austin Wilson, 28, also faces drug and witness-tampering charges.
Wilson and James Howe, 31, are accused of plotting to rob a woman to whom Howe owed money from drug sales. The woman sold Howe some methamphetamine, and he owed her nearly $6,000, according to court papers.
He arranged to meet her May 9 outside the Winco Foods grocery store. He told her he was going to pay back some of the money, according to court papers.
Instead he and Wilson planned to rob the woman, according to Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Matthew Baldock.
During the course of the robbery, the woman was hit in the face with a gun. The gun apparently fired during a struggle over the woman’s purse. The bullet grazed her lip and broke several teeth.
