MUKILTEO — Two people were rescued from a burning sailboat Thursday west of Mukilteo.
The vessel, about 48 feet long, caught fire around 1 p.m. west of Picnic Point, between Mukilteo and the southern tip of Whidbey Island, U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Levi Read said.
Two people aboard the vessel were rescued by a passing boat, Read said. There were no reports of injuries.
