SEATTLE — The National Weather Service forecasts above-normal temperatures this week in Western Washington while a chance of thunderstorm lightning mid-week brings the danger of wildfires to Eastern Washington.
Forecasters expect highs in the 80s in Western Washington and mostly 60s and 70s on the coast. Eastern Washington highs are forecast in the 90s.
A dry spell continues. There’s been no rain in Seattle so far this July.
There’s a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with dry lightning strikes. Combined with dry grass and brush and expected breezy winds, it adds up to an increased risk of wildfires.
