Woman found strangled in Spokane motel room

SPOKANE — Spokane police have made an arrest in the strangulation death of a woman found in a downtown motel room.

The Spokane County medical examiner’s office has identified the woman found dead early Thursday morning in a room at the Downtowner Motel as Shawana Wyatt, 34.

Police arrested a 36-year-old man at a nearby gas station for investigation of second-degree murder. They say the case appears to be domestic violence.
