LAKEWOOD — A woman in her 30s suffered serious hand injuries Friday afternoon after an apparent fireworks accident.
Police and firefighters were called just after 3:30 p.m. for reports of an explosion along 62nd Ave. NW near Lake Goodwin. Witnesses reported seeing a white van apparently fleeing the scene. The location is an abandoned house, according to police.
The woman, who has an Arlington address, was taken via ambulance to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, said Lt. Jeff Brand with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman told police that she and others were around fireworks, and the fireworks exploded, Brand said.
“There is more to investigate to try and determine exactly what happened,” he said.
