EVERETT — Everett police and the Snohomish County Medical Examiner are investigating the discovery Monday of the body of a 57-year-old woman found dead outside her home.
Shortly after 8 a.m., police responded to the Evergreen Sauna and Massage in the 9800 block of Evergreen Way, where she lived, after a neighboring business person reported seeing the woman’s body lying in the grass.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The police major crimes unit and crime scene team began examining the scene. The location of the body and other things led police to believe it was a suspicious death.
The woman’s identity was withheld pending notification of relatives and investigation into the cause and manner of her death.
The woman ran the business, which was shut down by the city in September after an investigation of prostitution.
Police ask anyone with information on the woman’s death to call the department’s tip line at 425-257-8450.
