SEATTLE — Drivers who crossed the Highway 520 toll bridge at Seattle and who don’t have the automatic Good To Go accounts will receive bills in the mail next week.
The Transportation Department says it’s sending bills to 19,000 drivers who crossed the Lake Washington floating bridge between Dec. 29 and Jan. 4 without transponders. They pay $1.50 more than the rate paid by the Good To Go drivers, who make up about 70 percent of the bridge users.
The tolls are expected to raise about $1 billion toward the $4.7 billion cost of replacing the 49-year-old bridge. The new floating bridge between Seattle and eastside suburbs is expected to open in 2014.
