You may have noticed the city didn’t string up the Christmas tree above the intersection of Hewitt and Colby avenues as it usually does. Fear not, workers plan to put it up Saturday.
The city briefly considered leaving it down this year based on concerns about it falling down during bad weather. The artificial tree is strung on wires above the busy intersection. I planned to write about that for tomorrow’s paper, until I got a call this morning from city spokeswoman Kate Reardon. She said the city had found a way to more securely fasten the tree in place and now they plan to put it up.
