BELLINGHAM — A young man who drowned after jumping from a small Bellingham waterfall was a 16-year-old high school student.
The Bellingham Herald reported that Daniel Santiago Guerrero jumped in at Whatcom Falls Park with several other teens on Monday evening. He never resurfaced.
A city parks employee who lives across the street tried to save him, and found the boy’s body with his feet. He and a firefighter pulled Guerrero up, but medics couldn’t revive him.
